Taven
Privacy Policy

🔒 The short version
Taven collects no data. There is no account, no sign-up, and no server. Everything you do in the app is stored only on your device, and you can delete it at any time. Payments are handled entirely by Apple. The one exception: questions you type to Taven Coach are sent to an AI provider (DeepSeek) to generate the answer, as described in section 3.
1. What we don't collect
Taven was built so that your data never has to leave your device. Specifically, we do not collect, transmit, store, sell, or share:
- Personal information such as your name, email, or phone number (we never ask for any)
- Your onboarding answers, training history, streaks, or capacity measurements
- Health or fitness data of any kind
- Usage analytics, crash reports through third-party services, advertising identifiers (IDFA), or tracking data
- Location data
The app contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising frameworks, and no analytics tools. Apart from the optional Taven Coach feature described in section 3, it makes no network calls of its own.
2. What stays on your device
To run your program, Taven stores the following locally on your iPhone only: your onboarding answers (goal, age range, experience, schedule preferences), your program state (current day, level, difficulty), your session history and capacity measurements, and your settings.
You can erase all of it at any time via Settings → Privacy → Delete all data in the app. Deleting the app also removes everything, because no copy exists anywhere else.
3. Taven Coach (AI)
Taven Coach is the one feature that uses the network. When you send the Coach a question, that question and the recent messages of the same conversation are transmitted securely to DeepSeek, a third-party AI provider, to generate the answer. This is the only data that ever leaves your device, and it happens only when you actively use the Coach, never in the background.
- No identity attached: Taven has no account system and sends no name, email, identifier or advertising ID with your questions.
- Not stored by Taven: your conversation lives only in the app's memory and disappears when you close it. We operate no server and keep no copy.
- Provider processing: DeepSeek processes your questions under its own privacy policy and may store them on its servers, which can be located outside your country. Treat anything you type as leaving your device.
- Your consent: the Coach asks for your permission the first time you use it, and it stays fully optional. Every other feature works without it.
Please don't include personal details (names, contact information, health records) in your questions. The Coach is a training guide and does not provide medical advice.
4. Purchases
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Apple may process transaction data under its own privacy policy. To manage or cancel a subscription, use your Apple Account settings.
5. Notifications
The optional daily reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device. It uses deliberately neutral wording, and nothing about it is sent anywhere.
6. Face ID
If you enable the app lock, authentication is performed by iOS. Taven never sees or stores your biometric data. The system only tells the app whether authentication succeeded.
7. Apple Watch
If you use the Apple Watch companion, your session plan and results sync directly between your iPhone and your Watch using Apple's device-to-device connection. This data does not pass through any server.
8. This website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics, and no trackers, and it loads no third-party resources. Your hosting provider may keep standard technical server logs (such as IP addresses) for security purposes.
9. Children
Taven is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because we collect no information at all.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Because the app collects nothing, meaningful changes are unlikely, and any change that weakens this approach would be clearly highlighted.
